If you have the voice but have been waiting for the right stage, the OppiDam talent competition could be your chance to step up in front of a live festival crowd.
The competition takes place at the OppiDam Musiekfees at Vygeboom Dam on Saturday, October 3, starting at 13:00. The winner will return to the main stage later that evening to perform shortly before South African artist Ivan Roux.
Entries are open to singers who want to put their talent to the test.
Those wishing to enter must send musician Pieter Rischmüller an MP3 recording of themselves singing, together with their name and surname, age, photograph, address and contact number. Entries can be emailed to pietpompiesolo@gmail.com.
Prizes will be announced closer to the festival.
The talent competition forms part of the two-day OppiDam Musiekfees programme on October 2 and 3. The festival line-up includes Nicholis Louw, Ivan Roux, Pieter Rischmüller and Band, Cinema, Narboth Mathole, Drommedaris, Freckled Elvis, Kris Ray and Coenie Naudé.
The festival takes place at OppiDam resort at Vygeboom Dam, within driving distance of Barberton and Nelspruit. Food vendors, stalls, family activities and a potjiekos competition will also form part of the weekend programme, with camping and other accommodation available at the resort.
